Anthem Requests Refund for Massage - KAC taking action

Anthem has begun to request refunds of monies paid to chiropractors in Kentucky that have billed massage (CPT code 97124) under the chiropractor’s credentials, but performed by a massage therapist in the chiropractic office. They are stating that it is their policy to only reimburse for massage performed by a chiropractor or a physical therapist. The KAC is currently investigating this activity to formulate a formal response.

2008 Legislative Session Update -- What Happened to HB148?

The 2008 Legislative session brought alot of ups and downs. This year the KAC introduced the professions Fair and Reasonable Reimbursement Legislation. It passed out of the House with overwhelming support. Once in the Senate the Health and Welfare chairwoman introduced a substitute for the KAC's bill. The new bill contained none of the original bills language, did nothing to address the professions current problems and had the potential to actually hurt chiropractic in Kentucky. We could not let it pass and requested your help in stopping this damaging bill. READ MORE details and view the KAC's reasoning for our decision on the Kentucky Government page.
