LB Payne Insurance Seminar Coming in January

Doctors worry about many things as they go through their day in practice. Am I up to date on Medicare guidelines? Are there malpractice pitfalls I need to be aware of? Is my HIPAA compliance fully up to date? What insurance changes are coming in the future?  Is there a new new technique I can add to my practice?  Are the exams I am doing comprehensive enough and are my codes fully supported by my documentation?  All of these questions and many more can be answered at our upcoming Annual LB Payne Insurance Seminar at the Crowne Plaza in Louisville on January 20th & 21st, 2018.

Your room is waiting for you and all you have to do is call
(502) 367-2251 before December 18th to ensure that it’s booked before the block ends.

The weekend will be action packed with 5, yes 5, speakers. Attorney John Floyd will kick off the weekend with things we can do to ensure we are malpractice compliant. He will be followed by Dr. Dick Broeg and our Workers Comp update. Dr. Nick Payne will bring us our Medicare update, HIPAA updates, and information on a multitude of other topics.

Dr. David Fishkin will bring an introduction to Dry Needling starting Sunday morning. While Dr. K Jeffrey Miller will be bringing us Practical Assessment of the Chiropractic Patient to finish off the day on Sunday. This seminar shows the doctor how to examine any area of the neuro-musculoskeletal system efficiently, effectively and accurately in daily practice while including proper documentation.

Want to Treat Veterans in Your Practice?

In order to give our veterans greater access to care the VA is implementing a new program called the Community Care Network (CCN).  This new program is aimed at filling in gaps when the VA lacks the resources to provide the necessary health care to a veteran.  CCN highlights include more direct VA to provider interaction, comprehensive authorizations to reduce administrative burdens, and more services available to veterans than allowed under the PC3 and VCP.

Providers who are enrolled in the Veterans Choice Program (VCP) at this time do not need to enroll with EmpowerChiro to treat VA patients at this time.  However, the VA is not accepting any new providers in this program, and Information is being sent to providers enrolled in the VCP to credential with EmpowerChiro or they will not be eligible for reimbursement starting possibly as soon as Jan 1st 2018.

To network with TriWest providers must contract thru EmpowerChiro.  The typical initial authorization is for 12 visits including E/M, CMT and physical modalities.  After the initial authorization providers can request a secondary authorization thru TriWest.  EmpowerChiro does charge a monthly membership fee, but in certain counties they are waving this fee to increase the number of providers in their network.  If you are interested in treating Veterans, please contact EmpowerChiro or TriWest for more information.

Could the KAC Group Health Plan Save You Money?

The Kentucky Association of Chiropractors is excited to announce it has launched a new Group Health Plan. If you join the KAC you will have access to an alternative to your individual exchange plan or current group plan. With premiums rising 20-30% a year why should you give these group medical plans consideration:

1.  Can enroll a minimum of 2 ‘related’ employees (great for that husband & wife practice)

2.  It is NOT an exchange product with a community rating

3.  Multiple rate classes for healthy groups to qualify for

4.  A great Wellness Program to reduce each years deductible

5.  Dental & Vision available with or without electing medical coverage
